YOUNG AMERICANS GOING GAGA FOR SOCIALISM [Reagan Warned Us]
World Net Daily ^ | 5/13/2015 | CHERYL CHUMLEY

Ask youth and Democrats in America what they think of socialism and a growing number will answer in the positive, pointing to Norway, Sweden and self-declared socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders as their examples, a new survey showed.

YouGov conducted a survey of how Americans these days are viewing socialism, and the perception has greatly changed since Moscow Red Square military-parade days.

In general, 52 percent of Americans say they have a favorable view of capitalism and 26 percent, a favorable perception of socialism. But those numbers change dramatically with the younger set.

For those in the under-30 range, “36 percent have a positive view of socialism, while 30 percent have a positive view of capitalism.” The over-65 age range of those surveyed, meanwhile, maintained a negative view of socialism. Only 15 percent gave it the thumbs-up, while 59 percent favored capitalism, YouGov reported.

Of course they are. How else can the worldwide totalitarian state be ushered in?

Well let’s be honest - what has “free market capitalism” represented for younger people in recent times? What values have some the most strident free-marketers promoted?

Mass-immigration that swamps the lower end of the job market and changes the nation’s demographics?

Social liberalism, as we recently saw with the “revolt of the CEOs” in Indiana?

The massive, gleeful offshoring of jobs and the relentless pursuit of globalism and “free trade” that only seems to gut the working classes?

The erosion of local/community values and businesses and the promotion of bland, standardized, liberal-oriented globalist firms?

Massive financial/auto/etc. firm bailouts, but only for the biggest “players”?

Have our modern corporate executives been capable stewards of the gifts and advantages conferred to them by the American system, or have they been abusing those privileges?

I can see why younger people would be very cynical about all of this.

Yesterday, unfortunately, I had a sad demonstration of what this article is about. A young co worker was getting a different job in Vermont. She told me how happy she was to go to such a Socialist state (Bernie Sanders is from Vt.). I told her that Socialism doesn't work. She said she knew, but didn't care. I tried to get her a former KGB agent's comment about Socialism being from the devil, but I couldn't find it on a computer not my own :(

You don’t want to count on age and wisdom beating immaturity, eh? You have a point. But the way this generation has been raised, they won’t be willing to lift a finger anyway.

I think we’ll be fighting liberals our own age.

I just want the older folks around for the rebuilding.

“But the way this generation has been raised, they won’t be willing to lift a finger anyway.”

True, but I think it might be hard to judge what happens when peoples’ backs are against the wall. If there is some type of social breakdown, I don’t think it will be like any kind of revolution we see in other countries. Some strongman voting himself in for life, or an uprising happening from political agitation, I don’t think we are quite there yet. I can only see it happening here as some kind of spontaneous reaction to economic collapse or something that forces everyone’s lives to change. That would cure apathy really fast, and then who knows what people are capable of?

“I just want the older folks around for the rebuilding.”

Yeah, that would definitely be helpful. Half the young people I know don’t know basic stuff that is common knowledge to someone over 50. I mean “how to stop a toilet that keeps running before it overflows” type of stuff. No way they could rebuild anything, unless they were on the work gang getting told what to do.

National Socialism is “Socialism” + “Corporatism”. There is nothing “free market” about any of our country’s economic moves in a very long time. We have been riding the slippery slope to socialism and we appear to have arrived.

A co-worker was trying to fix something the other day. As I walked up, someone was explaining “Righty-tighty, lefty-loosey.” He replied “my right or your right?”

I had to walk away.

“If they’re both hijacked, then it’s on to our patriotic duty of CWII in one form or another. It’s not North vs. South, it’s All of America vs. The Beltway, . . what 500+ individuals?”

I like the way you think;)

But I think we’ll be fighting a lot of liberals on both coasts. The center vs the coasts. At least they will be divided.

True, those with little to lose can be unpredictable. And hunger can drive people to desperation. Just wait until those EBT cards don’t work!

Neither of which either group could find on a map. What do the "youth" know about any other country? History, geography and civics instruction in today's schools is pathetic. They get their "knowledge" from comedians like Maher and Stewart.

Whoever controls the storytelling industries - religion, government, media, and education - controls the conversation and the destiny of a nation.

Until conservatives decide to dominate these industries nothings gonna change.

It is easy to convince people to see socialism doesn’t work.

The adults have to want to, though.

Like giving part of your A grade to a lower-performing student.

Like giving part of your paycheck to someone who didn’t work but just sat around because they need it more.

That kind of real-life example that shows the inherent unfairness and inherent repulsiveness that socialism is.

That’s a big distinction; it is easy to say “young Americans going gaga for socialism” when most young people today are not the European-American of yesteryear. Instead, they often come from homes where the dole is the “breadwinner” and they see no correlation between their own lifestyles and the disastrous economic impact of socialism.

You’re right; 20+ years ago business professors told us we’d be the first generation with a lower standard of living than our parents, and they were right. I’m amazed at how many young people today will never buy a new car, never mind have a child or buy a home. The problem is that they don’t understand cause & effect (though as they age they are starting to see the light).

Capitalism hasn’t been kind to American workers, especially young ones; I feel lucky to have a job from the “before-times”, with decent pay and benefits. A lot of Asians are being imported to take Americans’ jobs in the financial sector, and I couldn’t imagine looking for work today with our “replacement white-collar workers” being trafficked here (just as many blue-collar workers were idled by Mexicans as the “replacement blue-collar workers).

I don’t disagree with that.

Still, when the money to be redistributed comes out of your paycheck, it makes a big difference.

Even if kids come from a home where “the Dole” is the bread-winner (so to speak), when they venture out on their own to work, the run smack dab into confiscation.

I was agreeing with your contention, and understand exactly what you meant. The “young people” who are the strongest supporters of socialism are those that have no interest in going out to look for a job.

Even the dupes of the left marching for $15/hour should first look at what is already being taken from their paychecks and direct their activism towards that. Liberal government officials get behind these absurd wage increases because it will increase the federal and state income taxes, as well as the Social Security and Medicare contributions of those workers (which don’t get refunded via tax returns); to them it is simply a wealth transfer from employer to government coffers.

After Obama’s election black talking heads on “news” networks were complaining that “socialist” had become the new “N-word”; they clearly understood it was exposing the wealth transfers from working non-blacks to non-working blacks (despite the fact that all races have members with outstretched palms).
