When you lose awareness of sin and start thinking that, deep down, human beings are pretty wonderful, you lose the struggle of character building. Building character is not like being better than someone else at a career. Its conquering your own weakness. But you wont make that effort if you lose a sense of what your weakness is and where it comes from.

His adultery ?
I was unaware if he did...
David Brooks said this? He is correct.
I hope he includes Idol Worship, which includes admiring the crease in a man’s pants.
Seriously, we need a Reformation...a new one.
Christians are in need of loving their neighbors; non-Christians need to recognize they are lost without a Saviour.
A bit like showing concern that the barn door hinges creak after the horses are long gone.
If David Brooks sycophant for the Golfing King sees our culture is downing down the crapper...maybe there is hope..
I keep thinking the same thing...better late than never...
Good, David. Talk to your liberal friends about it all day long, will ya?
The same David Brooks who stapled his lips to the President’s bottom in the last 2 elections?
That work might be a terrific book to reread after reviewing Brooks' writing.
Yeah, lets see the Brooks push that line in the NY Times and see how long the communists who run that rag put up with it.
Is this a trick question, Mr. David Brooks? Yes, we should talk about sin and righteousness, but 50% of the population will not understand what we are talking about.
The 64 Dollar question, is Who gets to define what constitutes ‘sin’?
Silly me...liberals like David Brooks get to define terms. We cannot disturb the cognitive inabilities of silly liberals when we use words like ‘sin’ and ‘righteousness’.
David Brooks gets something right?
I remember distinctly an image of—we were sitting on his couches, and I was looking at his [Obama’s] pant leg and his perfectly creased pant, and Im thinking, a) hes going to be president and b) hell be a very good president. - David Brooks
Let’s start with a discussion of David Brooks’ apparent lust for Obama.
David Brooks ethically sucks and is a part of the reason our culture is so lost today in progressiveness. He could not get bend low enough into the gutter of humanity to usher in the homo agenda.
I think he had a epiphany...
I'm sure he will get over it...
