For months, and even before she declared her presidential candidacy, many have questioned whether former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina is actually serious about running for president and not just locking down a vice presidential nomination. This speculation has been driving me nuts, especially since it's continued after she announced a run for the White House earlier this month.
But over the weekend anchor Katie Couric, infamous for her interview with Sarah Palin during the 2008 presidential cycle, brought up the notion again and asked Fiorina directly if she was really just running to be picked as vice president.
"Really many people believe that you don't have a great chance of securing the GOP nomination. You're polling around one percent so are you hoping that in fact you may be tapped as a vice presidential candidate?" Couric asked during an interview with Fiorina last week.
"Oh Katie, would you ask a male candidate that question?" Fiorina responded.
"Yes I would," Couric said.

No word on when Couric will be asking Hillary Clinton the same types of questions about her presidential campaign.
Would Fiorina be a great VP pick? Absolutely. If she doesn't win the GOP nomination could she be selected by another candidate for VP? Yes, but this is beside the point. Fiorina is running for president, not vice president. She didn't launch a presidential campaign to land in the number two position. She's competing for the most powerful position in the world and she's proven to be serious about it. She's answered 200 questions from the media since Monday about her presidential candidacy and has been traveling around the country meeting with voters to make her case for months. Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton has answered 8 questions since announcing her run more than a month ago.
Further, although Fiorina doesn't have huge name recognition, she's making gains in presidential polling.
Fiorina is running for president. The press should proceed accordingly.
Doesn’t Couric work for Yahoo now? Need we say more?
I think she is running for VP, I think Cruz has already selected her for VP, I think this campaign is how Carly will be introduced to the public, she is not that well known outside of conservative movement, she is gaining exposure and being vetted by being in the race.
As I see it now Carly and Bolton are in the race gaining recognition, Carly for VP and Bolton for Secretary of State, I don’t think we will see any other candidates in the race so far be selected for any Cabinet position in the Cruz Administration.
I also think Cruz knows exactly who will be in the most influential and crucial positions, most will not be so well known but they will have the character, confidence and loyalty Cruz will need to restore our Constitutional Free Republic.
Three Our Fathers and three Hail Marys for posting that pic.
Go forth and sin no more.
Looks to be a serviceable attempt at twerking.
Bwhahahaha!
Ha! I misread. I thought you posted “What exactly is she doing?” Meaning Couric.
Couric got canned or they didn’t renew her contract as CBS Evening News anchor.
She shouldn’t be talking like her own sh*t don’t stink. She’s got her own second fiddle problems.
Politically, I don’t support too many of Carly Fiorina’s positions to push her candidacy but I do have a lot of respect for her. The news presstitutes underestimate her intelligence a command to the issues to their own peril.
I won’t vote for Fiorina if she is still running when the primaries hit Texas, but I admire her moxy.
On a different note. If there is an article with both Katy Pavelich and Katy Couric in it, can we have pictures of Pavelich?
For Katy Couric, I need a picture of Helen Thomas as eye wash.
“Well, hey; Carly is from California.”
No.
She lived there for a while.
She moved to DC a number of years ago.
This whole Fiorina ruse is part of the gOPe Coordinated effort for 2016.
I think there is truth in the idea she is there to criticize Hillary Clinton.
But also she is in the race to diffuse support for a female conservative if one were to run, say Palin, Bachman or another.
Should have said:
“Katie, I have more executive experience than Hillary. I have been held accountable for results to an extent never experienced by Mrs. Clinton. Thus, I am more qualified than Hillary. So, what do you think she is running for?”
An extremely fine answer to an extremely dumb question. The boys should take a lesson from her. She answered it and then hammered Katie’s choice.
Pray America is waking
Sleazy twit.
“And aren’t you just aiming to sleep with the next News Director, Katie?”
Yeah, I would have said that. Guess it’s good that I’m not Carly.
Katie; just a bit sexist aren’t we?
“Katie, it’s not like trying to get hired as an evening anchor.”
Most people think so.
I’m sure she’d take the top job but I don’t think she’s deluded enough to think she’s gonna win.
