Took the turn too fast.

Engine separated from the rest of the train, left tracks, and made it over to the nearby tracks.

The following two cars struck an embankment at a high rate of speed — hence the mangling.

That seems to be it. The crash was at Frankford Ave. and Wheatsheaf Lane, as reported by one source, and this pinpoints it, as verified by the overhead structure in view, and other details visible in Google Earth. CNN was just showing massive flashlight inspection of the curve, and the video appeared pristine.

Looks like that’s what happened. Is the engineer’s name Mohammed??? I can’t find any mention of his name. He has an attorney and allegedly will not speak to police. Hmmm.
