When the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015, commonly known as the "doc-fix" legislation, becomes law, some Medicare participants will pay 30% more for their Part B premiums. The legislation, which was decisively passed by the House on March 26 and the Senate on April 14 is expected to be signed by President Obama soon.
The bill replaces the current physician Medicare reimbursement schedule with payment increases for doctors for the next five years. It will be financed by higher Medicare Part B premiums for individuals whose income exceeds specified thresholds beginning in 2018.

Someone has to pay for Medicaid expansion.
“Individuals in the first two brackets, that is, those whose MAGI doesn’t exceed $107,000 using single filing status or $214,000 filing joint, will continue to pay the premiums they’re paying now.”
HAHAHA!!!! Can’t wait til my obola voting grandparents hear this. Gonna be a good time. I just might pop off at the store, grab some popcorn and swing by their place with this article. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
... which is a travesty.
how nice of you but the sad thing is it hits the NON Obola voting Grandparents just as hard...and not at all for those that don’t/didnt pay into the system
Our tax code could be summed up with “Buy votes from the lazy or thriftless with money from those who have worked, saved and gained wealth”.
The reason for doing this wouldn’t have anything to do with Obamacare, would it?
I do feel bad for that side of the faction. To be honest, I myself have felt that - My continued employment and higher premiums do pay for all the non-producers, after all, so I'm with you. But after they way I was treated over my defiance to obola, I just have a very very hard time feeling bad for those such as the G-parents who all but licked his butt. This is gonna be so damn much fun.
I have a sis that married a Nav officer and never paid into anything and has excellent coverage. When the co I retired from screwed with retiree medical because of Obama Care, coverage that we all EARNED, I told her about it.She said Oh you poor retirees Booh WhooWhoo.
I don’t talk to her any more.
She loves Obama and will probably vote for Clinton just because she is a woman.
In twenty years - with inflation - the majority will be paying the higher amount.
her “excellent coverage” becomes MEDICARE when her navy spouse hits age 65
military retiree medical care becomes MEDICARE at age 65 some of us with premiums in the thousands
And Boehner and McConnell will be the fall guys. They will never learn.
