HOWARD COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) -- A young couple died while shielding their daughter from debris during Sunday night's storms.
According to Howard County Coroner John Gray, the storm moved through the county around 11:20 p.m., and left two dead in Nashville, Ark.
That daughter, a 1-year-old infant, is the only one that made it out of this mix of metal and memories alive on the 1000 block of W. Sypert Street. Her mother, and Linda Purtell's friend, Melissa and her 29-year-old husband Michael are the reason she survived

RIP.
Exactly! Very touching story....
Prayers for this little one and her heroic parents, may they RIP.
When the daughter learns what her parents did for her, she will miss them all the more.
I’m beginning to understand why some folks are athiests . For all we know this couple prayed every night asking “ God “ to watch over them , etc...Guess he was busy ?
i do not understand this... is the mother Linda Purtell's friend?
...”Guess he was busy ?”...
No, he used them to save the baby....He never lost sight of them at all.
But I have always wondered why people remain in mobile homes when there are clearly Tornados in those areas.....at least have a safe bunker because Tornados lift Trailers up with ease.
Too bad these mobile home parks do not have a underground shelter so that the residence can run and shelter themselves from an incoming tornado.
You are not the only one confused due to the horribly substandard level of so-called reporting on display in this piece. Apparently, English composition is not taught in schools anymore.
Excellent reply.
I've been analyzing my own "unanswered" prayers and find, without exception that I'm asking to negate the effect of really bad decisions when the obvious answer is to make better decisions. People seek a cure for AIDS when the cure has always existed: Don't put things in other things where they don't belong.
Scoffing is irrelevant. Obey God's law and He will take care of the rest.
Everyone dies. And before that, everyone suffers. If you believe death is real, life is a tragedy. If you refuse to believe death is real, there is only life. Those who's love brought them together, will be brought together again by that same love.
Refuse the delusion of belief in death.

So well said. Thank you.
When we were little children, things seemed random and not fair. Not everything our parents did made sense, but we had to trust that what they did was done because they loved us.
Now we’re adults, and not everything God does makes sense. He is our parent, and we have trust that He acts because He loves us.
We’re not able to see the whole picture, so we have to trust.
Know that He loves you.
We will not know why things happened until we reach eternity. However I trust God and know He worked things to the best for all involved. If you could speak with those He called to Himself, they would not want to come back for any reason. We only see things from one side, and from a distinctly disadvantaged position. Do not judge God by human understanding.
