anta Barbara County sheriff's officials were responding to reports Monday night of a shooting in the Isla Vista area near UCSB.
The shooting occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. in the 6500 block of Sabado Tarde Road, according to an emergency alert issued by UC Santa Barbara. A county fire captain said in a tweet that three people were wounded by gunfire.
The suspected gunman was believed to be a man driving a white sedan, according to the university, which placed all dorms on lockdown and advised those in the area to shelter in place.
The latest violence comes nearly a year after Elliot Rodger went on a rampage in the same college community, killing six people before shooting himself.

So, where is the “Not One More” Gun Grabber Dude?
Lots of Messican gang scum infecting Isla Vista and areas around there...always had a bad element but lately its just terribly unsafe
Fall 1966, San Miguel Hall, 7th floor. In the window was a sign that said BOMB PEKING. That person was ahead of his time. Me.
Today, you’d be in the hoosegow. I mean, the word “BOMB” on a college campus?! /s;)
Yep, how things have changed.
Anacapa Hall, 1964-5. UCSB was a wonderful place back then. I can’t say the world has changed for the better in the last half century.
Racial strife, riots, Isla Vista... ?
Are we in the 70s right now or what?
Also on Sabado Tarde , fall of 1979, my boyfriend (now husband’s duplex had a sign (stolen, I think), “No beans for sale.”
Prayers up for the kids in IV.
