Watch as Jetman Yves Rossy and his protege, Jetman Vince Reffet, take their crazy jetpacks to the skies of Dubai and tour the city like Superman would. It’s unbelievable every time I see them soar through the air like fighter jets, busting moves and tricks that only stunt planes dare to try. Except they’re not in a plane and they aren’t Superman, they’re humans with jetpacks strapped to their backs.

Dubai is really trying to make itself a “destination”, they sponsor all sorts of events. They sponsor a number of wingsuit flyers and skydivers. The world’s richest Sporting Clays shoot is there, with crazy hard targets.
Different technology.
The 1963 jet-pack or rocket-belt developed thrust from the decomposition of highly concentrated Hydrogen Peroxide. 2(H2O2) ==> 2(H2O) + O2+ Lots of Heat. The exhaust was steam under very high pressure. It's a rocket engine, not a jet engine.
The Yves Rossy aircraft uses very small turbofan engines, burning JET-A.
