Agreed. Halperin wanted a gottcha moment but it backfired when he did not get one, in addition to Cruz making him look foolish. His “apology’ was nothing more than trying to save face, groveling.

I think it’s astute and it shows that Cruz doesn’t mind taking on these liberals with an agenda because he outfoxes them every time. He’s not some dummy from Missouri or Indiana. He can’t be tripped up, he spars with Supreme Court justices—and wins. So, what he’s really saying here is, “Mark was stupid enough to try that leftist gotcha game with me, and he got beat up and now he knows better. I feel for the guy. Think about that, Katie Couric.”
