“I dont like him, but at least he is honest about what he is and what he intends to do.”
So was a German paperhanger. He even published a book.
I knew a guy from Norway for a few years. He thought their brand of socialism was just great.
However I’ll tell you that Norwegian socialism would not be so palatable were it not for offshore oil revenues.
The problem, of course, is that that's just about the most costly possible way of delivering health care to the uninsured, and it does nothing to help people with chronic conditions or long-term problems like cancer.
It’s true that Scandanavian countries have a big problem with immigrant assimilation. But they don’t have thousands entering the country, completely unchecked and unnoticed, every day the way we do. That is what I was referring to. They have much better control over who enters. So we get the one-two punch that Scandanavian countries generally don’t have to deal with.
In western European type socialism people are allowed to make money, but like George Harrison said, "one for you, nineteen for me," me being the government. How many Americans would be happy with that?
And as Mark Steyn writes in his book "America Alone" Western Europeans are living a lie. They have a negative birth rate, and expect a decreasing supply of workers to cover their enormous early retirement benefits.

Tax of around 50% plus a 25% VAT plus local taxes. Yup it’s all free!
Quite a struggle, if I remember right...
So the Scandahoovian muzzie problem is self-inflicted, which IMO seems like national suicide in slo-mo. I introduce Malmo as evidence, & rest my case. Consider also how much greater a percentage of the population that muzzies are in those countries.
BTW, that’s Norway, Sweden & Denmark. I don’t know about the muzzie situation in Finland. They once had a lot of illegals pouring in from Russia, but that was in 1940.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." ---C.S. Lewis
