Jeb Bush Believes 'People Can Be Persuaded' on Immigration Reform
Latin Post ^ | 5/10/15 | Robert Schoon

In an interview with Fox News host Megyn Kelly, Jeb Bush spoke out about his position on immigration reform, saying he believes some in the GOP base "can be persuaded" on the subject.

In the growing field of official and prospective Republican candidates for the 2016 presidential elections, Jeb Bush currently stands out the most for his views on immigration reform, which could be described as closer to Hilary Clinton's position than many of his GOP rivals. As we previously reported, Bush believes in a path to "earned legal status" for the 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the U.S.

Now, in a Fox News interview airing Monday night, Bush defended his position, playing up his differences with the "no amnesty" views of the Republican base and other presidential hopefuls as a political necessity -- and as evidence of his leadership.

"There's got to be a point where we fix this system so that legal immigration is easier than illegal immigration," stated Bush in a preview clip of the full interview released by Fox News on Sunday. "And show some respect for people."

Echoing statements he made earlier this year about allowing undocumented immigrants to "come out of the shadows," Bush posed a hypothetical to Kelly and hinted he believes the right wing of his party has gone "over the line" in their strict position on immigration reform.

I guess I am not a person, because I am not persuaded.

Sure. I can be persuaded. All you have do is show me how amnesty will be good for the Republic and its citizens.

I am not talking about the cheap labor types. I’m talking about average folk. About teenagers who find their summer jobs filled by illegals. About folks who have to pay taxes so these invaders can use emergency rooms as their primary care physician, and pay for their schooling.

I do not think he can prove this case.

Donald Trump isn’t a candidate at the moment.

But here’s a tape of him at the Freedom Summit this weekend.

His comments on illegal immigration are particularly pro-American.

I think this guy would be a nightmare as president, but he sure has that one right.

“And Mexico will pay for it?”

Dang, the guy didn’t mince words did he.

Thanks for the mention.

I could be wrong, but I believe his other policies would make me cringe. What’s your take on that?

I’m just saying.

There is a 28 minute long speech right there.

Have a listen. Others, listen to him. Just listen to him once. Maybe even listen to all 28 minutes. Start out deciding to listen to the first three minutes, then keep on going if it’s interesting.

You’ll hear a lot of cheap shots aimed at Donald Trump here and other places, but listen.

Make up your own mind.

I’ve been critical of him over time. I need to be honest about that.

I thought he was a pinhead just watching his show.

I’ll listen to the whole thing.

"Little Jebbie" is DELUSIONAL! He loves ILLEGAL ALIENS more than American CITIZENS. And he thinks he can BUY the election and our support with the Karl Rove's and the country club RINO republican's millions of dollars. Well, the Beatles said it best and Scott Walker proved it true in spite of the MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS OF DOLLARS raised and spent to defeat him:

"I don't care too much for money, money can't BUY me love!"

Unlike "Little Jebbie," Ted Cruise is a true conservative who is a man of principle; who has the guts to stand for the rule of law and the United States Constitution.

If they run Jeb I’ll vote Libertarian or Democrat. Straight ticket. I’m done with this garbage.

If he gets the nod, I want Cruz or Walker to go third party. And I think either one would win.

The article references 11 million illegal aliens. It seems to me I’ve been hearing about 10 or 11 or 12 million illegals for the past 20 years. Surely the number hasn’t remained static over that time.

The global “Fabian Socialist” oligarcs have succeeded in overthrowning the Federal government, and the only chance we have now is to reign them in from the state level.

Deport Jeb and his non-English speaking wife back to Mexico. Their contempt for lawful American citizens is disgusting.

My suggestion is that if Juanito "Jeb" Bush wants to be the first Hispanic president he should take his burro to Mexico and run for president there. Let him find out just how Mexico treats non Mexicans trying to take their jobs. Maybe he will receive many acts of love.

Immigration reform is about greed.

Immigration reform is about money.

Immigration reform is about supply and demand.

Increase the supply of labor and demand falls, wages fall, your wages fall.

Ask yourself why the government CHOOSES to not enforce immigration law?

The political donor class and the employer class hold the reins of the government through how the political parties are funded. These are the people who are demanding the government ignore parts of immigration law.

Why?

Greed, plain and simple.

Increase the labor supply and the amount you have to pay people goes down, and you no longer need to treat them very well, because there are MILLIONS of hungry fearful people who will put up with it because the supply of jobs shrinks relative the number of people looking for work.

Thats a ‘win win’ for the employer class and the political donor class.

Once again the middle class is being squeezed for the benefit of the few, follow the money.

Any politician who pushes immigration reform without demanding the laws on the books be enforced is an enemy of your future, an enemy of your childs future.

Those politicians are doing the work of the employer class and the political donor class, society and culture be damned.

Dare to speak against them and you will be labeled ‘racist’ by the media, a media controlled by the employer class and the political donor class.

The government no longer is about public service, it is about the money.

When the government is free to select which laws to enforce, with the blessing of the courts your freedom vanishes.

And there is no one to vote for who could/would fix it, from either party.

We are so screwed.

I am persuaded not to vote for anyone wanting to surrender the rule of law.

Fraudulently documented foreigners do not respect the laws, the citizens or the country, why should we give it to them?
