Oh...and I meant to add:

Marx said that “Religion is the opiate of the people” meaning, I presume that he thought religion was an intoxicant that rendered people useless and easy prey for the oppressors.

However, opiates are extremely useful and wonderful when used in medicine to ease unbearable pain, to comfort those afflicted, and to offer relief from suffering.

In that context, “Religion as an opiate” is doing what it is meant to do, and is a good thing.

In the “popular church” created in Nicaragua during the Sandinista movement, the followers of liberation theology supplanted the Gospel of Christ’s love for the Communist Manifesto of Marx and Che’s hate, going as far as replacing the crucified Christ by a naked Che Guevara.

To such an extent infiltrated that perversion of the Gospels, that the Seminary of San Antonio under Archbishop Flores became one of the meccas of the theology of liberation. The main liberation theologians went to indoctrinate unsuspected Catholics in this heresy. Lay Catholic leaders, priests, nuns and religious of the United States, Latin America, and even in the Philippines came to be brainwashed under the false pretense of helping the poor.

At the Mexican American Cultural Center located in the Seminary and funded by San Antonio diocese, you could buy all kinds of books and propaganda related to this aberration, including up to the book “Rules for radicals” of the radical Communist and mentor of Obama and Hillary, Saul Alinsky, a book that became for the Marxist radicals the bible for the conquest of power.

The Marxist liberation theology made great havoc in Latin America, allying itself to the Communist guerrillas and infiltrating to the Catholic hierarchy particularly in Brazil, and in the U.S. not only in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Antonio, but mainly between the Jesuits and the Maryknolls. The World Council of Churches became the main beach head of Marxist liberation theology in U.S. Black liberation theology is not more than a metastasis from the theology concocted by Fathers Gustavo Gutiérrez, the Jesuit Juan Luis Segundo, the brothers Leonardo and Clodovis Boff and the Cardinal brothers, the Jesuit Fernando his brother, Ernesto Cardenal.

Was the election of H.H. Juan Pablo II, the Pope put an end to this heretical movement within the Catholic Church with the effective cooperation of Benedict XVI, who was then Cardinal Ratzinger and Prefect of the Congregation for the doctrine of the faith who published “An Instruction on Certain of the theology of the liberation ‘’ that rejected this movement as a corruption of the Gospels by the insertion of class ware fare and other tenants of the Marxist ideology.

Unfortunately, Pope Francis rescued the Marxist liberation theology from the dustbin of History and opened the Vatican doors to the most radical proponents of the heresy.

History repeats itself. As H.H PopePaul VI said on June 29, 1972, it seems that “From fissure the smoke of Satan has entered the Temple of God”
