Just now read you post, but as I was driving to church this morning, I was contemplating how Jill must cope with such. I’ll confess that up until doing some cursory searches about her, I really didn’t know much about her. I sort of figured that perhaps she was a closet alcoholic in having to deal with the pig, but she seems to be a true believer. Much of her work has been with emotionally disturbed children, which goes a long way in her choice of Joe as her husband. I now think your assessment of her trading being married to a pig in exchange for the trappings of wealth and power is more accurate, though it wouldn’t surprise me at all to learn that she leans heavily on the bottle as well.
