MILLIKEN, Colo. – A restaurant in Colorado is turning some heads after they announced they will host a “White Appreciation Day” next month.
The Hispanic owners of the barbecue restaurant says offering a “White Appreciation Day” started as a joke, but now they have added it to their calendar.
On June 11, Edgar Antillon and Miguel Jimenez plan to offer a 10% discount to all white customers and no one else at their restaurant, Rubbin’ Buttz BBQ.
“We have a whole month for Black History Month,” Antillon said. “We have a whole month for Hispanic Heritage Month, so we thought the least we could do was offer one day to appreciate white Americans.”

I recall a few years ago, the number of whites California Highway Patrol offices became a minority.
So a few white CHP’s stated a White Highway Patrol Officers association on the grounds there were other allowed minority ones such as black and hispanic ones.
It wasn’t tolerated.

Last I checked, there were Ladies Day at oil change places, which means that only ladies, get the discounted price.
In addition, there are discounts for bringing in a church bulletin for Sunday lunch.
As long as these are going on, what’s the issue with this restaurant for this one-day promotion?
His business may be at risk. Yet, I can value the sarcasm and irony. He would have been better off to declare it as "Not Black, Brown, Yellow or Red Appreciation Day"
