Really hoping UKIP have done well on a personal level!
Tightest election in living memory - could go in any of many directions.
Almost certainly will be a coalition of sorts.
UKIP election ping.
Total wipeout of Labour in Scotland?
Without a doubt.
Outside chance the SNP could take every Scottish seat!
Lots of rumors of a very good UKIP performance but I have seen more than enough elections to know how little that counts for!
The SNP is any better?
No way. SNP are fascists.
The whole problem is UKIP might do well in votes but wins only a few parliamentary seats. UKIP could kick the SNPs arse in total votes and have nothing to show of it.
BBC coverage is coming up at 455pm Eastern on BBC World News Channel and ITV coverage is on C-SPAN at the same time.
Yes thats the problem with fptp
The exit poll results must be taken with a grain of salt, they have been wrong before but it looks like Cameron is coming out on top in a way the public opinion polls didn’t show. 316 for him and 10 for Lib Dems would give them a bare majority of 326 if the figures are 100 percent accurate in the end. UKIP’s 2 projection is not the final verdict there.
WAIT AND SEE FOR THE REAL FINAL RESULTS.
yes, shocking exit poll, really hope it doesn’t play out this way.
On BBC World News, exit polling gives Conservatives (Tories) the plurality, a bit short of a majority.
There is stressing that this prediction comes only from exit polling:
316 Conservative
239 Labour
.58 SNP
.10 Liberal Democrats
..4 PC [Plaid Cymru, Wales]
..2 UKIP
..2 Green
.19 Other [8 for the Democratic Unionist Party, DUP, of Northern Ireland; 11 for still others, including others in Northern Ireland]
Of course, we’ll see how accurate all this is.
I just saw Liberal Democrat leader Paddy Ashdown say he would “eat his hat” if the exit poll is true.
These swing numbers are also based on exit polls.
In order of their appearance in the BBC news ticker:
+ 9 Conservative
- 19 Labour
+ 52 SNP
- 47 Liberal Democrat
+ 1 PC [Plaid Cymru, Wales]
+ 2 UKIP
+ 1 Green
+ 1 Other
In numerical order:
+ 52 SNP
+ 9 Conservative
+ 2 UKIP
+ 1 PC [Plaid Cymru, Wales]
+ 1 Green
+ 1 Other
- 19 Labour
- 47 Liberal Democrat
Sky News in a tweet stated that UKIP could end up with the 3rd highest vote total even if it ends up with only 2 seats. That would be a pretty remarkable achievement.
“Minority Government” is generally not associated with landslide.
I also would not associate the British Conservatives with right wing. They are somewhere left of Romney, though to the right of Marx.
DAVID DIMBLEBY JUST ANNOUNCED ON AIR ON BBC A FEW MINUTES AGO THAT AT ONE SEAT, DARLINGTON, 89 BALLOT PAPERS WERE FOUND WITHOUT THE UKIP CANDIDATE’S NAME PRINTED ON THEM....
??????????????
I thought about saying Moderate instead. Lukid would be the most Right Wing I think.
