I am appalled at their act, but I do think 15 years in prison is WAY over the top.
Maybe community service and fines, and/or 30 days in jail.

I agree 15 years in jail is too much. How about a big big fine! Pay up or go to jail!
Sorry, but community service and 30 days is not even a slap on the wrist.
If they had been caught fooling around on the beach at 2am, sure, but in broad daylight at a family vacation spot, no way I’d remotely consider anything that light.
If they get away with just that, then others will almost certainly do it.

If they had been caught smoking Meth on the beach, they’d be looking at 30 days, plus community service, plus probation.
They should have taken the plea bargain that was offered more than once. Stupid in more ways than one.

I agree. 15 years is crazy. If Grandma didn’t want little Johnny to see the act, she should have stopped taking a video, removed the little kid from the area and called the police.
Also, I live in Bradenton, we had another couple in Manatee County last year that was having sex in the parking lot of a very busy shopping center in full view of anyone going by. They didn’t get the book thrown at them, just probation and community service if I recall.
Apparently, we are over run with a lot of overly sexual people in Bradenton.
