I’ve seen this kind of political operation before, both in events elsewhere in the past and in histories of similar operations. Here’s what’s being done.
Certain scared, extremely influential political constituents, their pocket politicians and sponsored media folks are pushing the conspiracy theory. They’re hoping that some of the least intelligent individuals with rifles will cause incidents, and you know why. Some of the more moronic dupes or trolls have already threatened to open fire on the soldiers (who won’t even have live ammunition).
Remember that there are very influential constituents in both political parties who want to disarm all but their own kind. They want to disarm the middle class. It’s not only Democrats. And don’t assume that you are one of those very influential constituents or very special to them.
Many who participate on all kinds of discussion boards (including this one) while wanting laws against middle class Americans owning rifles are adding lies to the stories (dishonest claims that soldiers are trespassing on private, residential properties, using artillery simulators next to private homes, etc.). The claims were made long before the exercise started.
I participated in an exercise like that during the years of the George H. W. Bush Administration. We were not practicing to take over the world. We were practicing to protect friendly locals and their infrastructure, wherever those friendly locals may be in the future. The locals enjoyed seeing us.
The problem now is that many of the locals here and there are not so friendly. Neighborhood guy is a commando in his own mind, and he’s looking for trouble.
Run this exercise in Mexico.

The Real Problem, IMHO, is that virtually no one outside the Ophonybama inner circle and the assorted hangers-on suckups TRUSTS anything the administration does or says!

We have a crisis in virtually every area of governance, and nothing the administration is doing seems to work to mitigate that crisis. In fact, EVERYTHING they do or say seems to make the situation worse.
Those of us who are vigilant have every right to be concerned for the future of the USA!
And, so long as Ophonybama and his LIEberal/Socialist/Marxist/Fascist thugs are in control of events both at home and abroad, we will remain so.
