I heard Rush talking about this today and was incensed that this whole discussion might be a serious consideration. I thought for sure we were being setup with a hoax.
The fact is, this WND article is a bit of hyperbole. If you read the abc.net.au article you will find that these guys are - in the end - NOT actually recommending that parents stop reading to their children.
Are they lefty socialists? Yes. Was the whole discussion an exercise in pop-culture psychobabble? Yes. But IMO, Rush’s portrayal was over the top.
