In certain large cities there are the at least 20 students with the name Chlamydia among the student population.
Suddenly that abstinence only education program doesn’t seem so dumb.
Among those who choose abstinence, I’d guess the infection rate is zero. Among those who engage in casual sex, the proportion is almost certainly more than half. Those are pretty bad odds, even for a teenager.
How did they get this information? Aren’t students’ medical records private? Did the students volunteer this information (seems unlikely)?

The high school has three days of sex education in the fall semester for students, with the curriculum including abstinence.

Perhaps they need a curriculum that emphasizes abstinence and is taught to them by their parents. Suspect the tramps in the school have not gotten too much instruction from their parents in how to behave like a lady.
One time during my high school days, all the boys were called to the auditorium. Unusual. No advance warning. Just “all boys meet in the auditorium. What in the world? No idea. We all just figured someone had screwed up and everyone was hoping it wasn’t them.
So, we get there. About 300 of us I guess. Everyone gets settled and the principals behind the podium. Real hard ass. Really.
It seems this girl had moved into town. I guess she had a hard time making friends so she used what the Good Lord gave her. Unfortunately she had the clap and had passed it on to about 8 guys. I didn’t know her by her real name. But her nickname was “Can Do”. Fitting.
