LOL! I think I was up to about $6.25 by ‘77. Turned much more lucrative towards the end in 2011 when I got laid off and retired the same day. Sucks now living on about 25% of the former income but at least I don’t have yearly ethics training mandatory. :>}

Agreed 100%.

The thing that most people (even on our side) fail to see is...minimum wage jobs are not meant to be a “living wage”. They are meant as jobs to serve as stepping stones to move away from once you gain experience.

If you are older, there is nothing wrong with getting a minimum wage job to get your foot in the door, to learn the basic ropes. But if you are still there after five years...that is a problem.

Anyone who would settle for working at a minimum wage job for an entire career would not be worth hiring at any price.

Funny how some folks think that those running on a 3-5% margin are all gazillionaires. No sense of understanding from them. Just evil capitalists profiting off the backs of the downtrodden. UPOS.

True. Also if these folks keep pushing I believe robots/automation can replace many employees in a hamburger joint.

Seattle: “The $15/hour minimum wage IS A FAILURE. We need to raise it to $30/hour.”

Good! I hope the economic suffering increases. Anything to wake people up to liberalism’s lies.

Nothing will help that. Liberals would go to their graves screaming the evils of conservatism, as other liberals killed them.

They eschew reality.

Wha... ? How.... ? This can’t be true.

According to the Left business do not ‘create jobs’ (employment) but when a business gets rid of employees they DO create unemployment.

Where I worked I started at $5.75, but there were quarterly reviews and annual cost of living raises as well. We had a pay scale that paid you more in steps as time went by, just like Time-in-Grade in the military. I think when I left there in 1980 I was making about $9 and hour which was damn good money for those days and my age.........

In order to ‘reason’ with a liberal, if you can call it reasoning, is to take their premise and extrapolate it to a logical conclusion. You have to force them into a mental conundrum that they cannot get out of. Then they ‘might’ get it, but if they are die hard ideologues, they just start calling you a nazi.............

You may be right, perhaps nothing will wake up a liberal. As some say on this forum “Liberalism is a mental disease.”

You get it. I get it. When will all everyone else finally "get it"?

The Marxist Left wants to destroy the free enterprise, capitalist system and replaced it with socialism or communism. They have been trying to accomplish this goal in America for decades and decades.

The issue with the Left is never the issue they make it out to be. The issue is always the socialist revolution.
