Well, Jade Helm is more insidious. States should be the only authorities involved in exercises like these. To paraphrase another FReeper, it's a joint military exercise that provides practice for simultaneously operating all of the control levers of armed federal power over six and seven states, the whole nation. It's a "cooperative" involving state police and county sheriffs, and you better bet who's the boss in these games -- major military units and federal law enforcement agencies. When would that ever be necessary?
You compare spotting that for the danger it is, to infowar cat ladies who fret over ebola, Ukraine, and secret tunnels at Wal Mart?
Look, there's something very wrong with the concept of pistol-packing patrols "protecting" open park land from environmental damage, down at the waterfront, at the beach -- that's badly skewed.
As for the tunnel whatchamacallits at Wal Mart (?!?), well, I thought that was scandalous! =^/

What the hell does pyramid power and a guy who wrote about it (a lot of guys have) have to do with getting antsy at the sight of paramilitary maneuvers in the city, more and more often, and now a multi-state-wide exercise that coordinates federal power of force ... er, cooperation ... over all local law enforcement?
Are you really okay with seeing large convoys of very heavily armed urban combat vehicles going down the freeways? Are you really okay with seeing those white suburbans marked "Homeland Security" in your neck of the woods? That you may end up having to drive through a roadblock put up as one of these "exercises" -- seeing it in the context of currently observed Federal government overreach in so many areas of our lives, is in reality perfectly harmless, but for drama queens it's "slop for the hogs" like pyramid power and black helicopters?

that is scary. an for all the heat that is packed in the US, thank goodness, it may be good for counter strikes and hit and runs, but no match for the military hardware I woul assume.
