Douglas Athas, the mayor of Garland, described the shootings: “Two men in a car tried to drive into the parking lot, jumped out with automatic rifles. Started firing at an unarmed schools security officer who was hit in the leg. He was transported to the hospital.

“The first suspect was shot immediately. The second was shot and wounded, reached for his backpack and, of course, officers not knowing any idea what was in the backpack, shot him again and he was killed.”

Before we get all excited and make too many comparisons between the responses in France and Texas, let’s take stock of what happened.

1. There was an attack by IS sympathizers in Dallas, Texas. That means there are probably quite a few IS sympathizers/members spread all over America. Many more tolerate these “savages” and blame the victims.
2. This was not a lone wolf operation.
3. This event had a $50,000 security detail. Does your church have that much security? Garland is a short 7.5 hours from where I sit at this very moment. There are no checkpoints between here and there.
4. They are well armed.
5. Obama, the FBI, Republicans in congress, our governors, our state reps are not all that concerned.
