NBC’s Brokaw: We Need a ‘Marshall Plan’ for US Cities
Breitbart ^ | 2015-05-03 | Pam Key

Posted on 05/03/2015 9:51:13 AM PDT by E. Pluribus Unum

Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” after host Chuck Todd detailed a 1965 report on the African-America family written by then Assistant Secretary of Labor Daniel Patrick Moynihan, former NBC “Nightly News” anchor Tom Brokaw said he was right we need to spend money to rebuild inner cites the way the Marshall Plan did in Europe after World War II.

I don’t.

1) Let us suppose that he does. Let us further suppose that someone “gives” her mother a job. Who, then, will care for the child while both mother and father are working outside the home? Why is it necessary for both mother and father to earn wages?

2) Let us suppose that he does not. Well ... there’s a big part of your problem, right there.

There’s a whole lot of social pathology hidden behind that tugging-at-the-heartstrings scene.

I’ll give them this much: At least they’re asking for (demanding?) a job. These days they demand billions of dollars in gibsmedat, and threaten to riot if the baksheesh isn’t forthcoming.

Come to think of it, they’ve been rioting or threatening to riot for generations in order to get more gibsmedat.

The truth is that the backbend expert mainstream media IS racist against blacks. This whole thing is racism against blacks. The bigotry of low expectations. The media does hand wringing as blacks destroy their cities, because they don’t expect decent behavior out of blacks angry at police brutality. The media would be horrified if white kids did this, or asians, or Hispanics. But blacks are pitied as if they could never act like mature adults.

Even if a black youth was tortured and killed by police, there are ways to address that grievance like adults. Blacks are not expected to behave like adults. They get away with behaving like toddlers or animals because of racism.

Society needs to be utterly disgusted at to stop this rioting any way necessary, exactly as they would if Russians invaded Baltimore and did equal destruction.

The way to fix cities is to demand adult, responsible behavior of everyone. Create homeless incarceration and insist that everyone have an address.* Get decent black leaders (they exist: Larry elder, Rev Jesse Peterman, etc) and shame black people into carefully creating their families, not breeding like squirrels. No free school lunches or breakfasts, low cost ones. No free daycare, low cost ones.

Remind everyone in the community:
1) do not have unprotected sex ever until you have a good job and are ready to support a child for 18 years
2) stay in school or teach yourself
3) learn a trade through school or apprenticing yourself to someone
4) get a job and do it well; don’t leave until you get another one
5) avoid intoxication
6) marry before having a baby

And you won’t be poor ever. Neither will your child.

It’s not that hard.

*homeless incarceration is akin to a poorhouse. They’d be locked in during dark hours and given food and bathrooms, Internet connection and phones to search for jobs, but it should not be pleasant. Any mentally ill or addicted should be put into mental health institutions until or unless they can function in society. If I were queen.

The way we should be politically responding to this and that includes conservative news commentary (what there is of it) and the talk show circut is by asking these two questions.

(1)If drug dealer Gray was killed as a result of a bad drug deal would we be hearing about him and would there be be rioting in the streets ?

(2) Of what benefit is it to the regime to allow these riots go on ? How about it diverts attention from their effort to legalize 11 million illegals who will be taking jobs away from poor blacks.

But they won’t particularly the 2nd question because the GOPES (government over the people slite statists) like the Bush’s, Boehner, Rove, McConnell, Graham, and that bunch want amnesty to happen.

The only remedy for what ails inner cities is changing the people.

Let me know when you find a way to add 15 IQ points and a father that has held a job for awhile, living in the household with his wife and children.

It’s a PROTEST SIGN. There’s a WHOLE LOT more to it than meets the eye. That’s the nature of protest signs and protest marches.

That little girl did not make that sigh. I’m somewhat dubious as to whether either of her parents did.

Open your eyes.

Great idea Tom, why don’t you start a foundation for the cities and start collecting contribution after you dig deep.

Uh, you need a Marshall Plan for the broken people in the cities. Not sure how that looks but they are the problem, not the zip code, the dirt or somebody out in suburbia.

Kid has no idea who Dad is.

I think you're very wrong. There are a man and a woman standing next to the kid holding hands. Best bet is that they're her mother and father. Intact families were actually the norm among black Americans, before Johnson and the other communist demonicrats exploded the metaphorical nuclear bomb of a "welfare state" on them.

If you keep doing something that doesn't work, isn't it time to try something different?

We should have a group of several independent private accounting firms look at how taxpayer money has been spent for the past 60 years, and what the results of the spending have been. It should be absolutely transparent and available for review. That data should be used to help inform how we move forward.

We've built housing projects that turned into crime-invested disasters - and then tore them down. We've had enumerable ‘urban renewal’ programs. We spend more money on public education per student than any other developed nation, yet only ~50% of the population can read at the 8th grade level. Whatever it is that we are doing, it's not working. Independent of political orientation, a person who honestly wants to solve a problem ought to be willing to sit down and look at what works, and what doesn't work, and plan for the future accordingly.

I feel sometimes as though the country has essentially turned into the equivalent of a Woolworths, during the last month before closing permanently, with people fighting over whatever ‘deals’ there were to be had before the doors were shut and locked.

“The War on Poverty” was signed off by Lyndon Baines Johnson.

Can you tell me how many years we’ve been doing this, already?

A VERY substantial percentage of the black population in America has evolved (under progressive policies) into becoming “brood parasites” whereby they now expect others to care for their offspring.

It’s not the city but the people who live in them. That’s where the problem lies and always has.

Tom Brokaw net worth as listed on the internet is 70 billion. Since he feels inner cities are such a worthwhile investment he should take half of that and invest it along with gov’t projects

Even if it flames out he still has 35 million left over. So where are his cojones?

Exactly. Google 'failing American cities' to see the common characteristics! For example: Detroit. Driven to bankrupcy, providing only a temporary solution...the voters remain the same. They will elect the same charlatans and it will repeat. I am not sure there actually is a solution.
