You could look at it this way.

Back when Jesus was talking to the people of the land, He didn’t have a ‘church’ building, He walked and the crowds followed, so that being the case, then maybe the land could go back to the government, the ‘church’ buildings could be used to preform another task, and we can meet in our homes, or take a walk around a few blocks and listen to what the leader of what ever religion is talking about....and as far as taxing, if there are no ‘buildings’ or ‘land’ then what is there for taxing?

Just a thought.....

Sometime in the last year I recall reading an article about “authorities”, in some city, who stopped a Christian group from having prayer meetings in their homes. Wish I could remember what city did that and by what ‘legal authority’ they were able to do it!

It especially startled me because it brought back a memory from my youth - My parents and a number of other Catholic families in the neighborhood would take turns hosting the group one night a week to say the Rosary. But - that was in better ‘times’...
