I guess I am a #3 on this scale:
1- Law Enforcement Officers are never wrong.
2- Law Enforcement Officers are seldom wrong.
3- Law Enforcement Officers are sometimes wrong.
4- Law Enforcement Officers are often wrong.
5- Law Enforcement Officers are always wrong.
Hey all!
The seatbelt rule is only 3 weeks old?
yes, per Mark, on April 9. Gray was arrested Apr 12.
Mosby mentioned 5-6 times that the cops didn’t seatbelt Gray.
Thought then that her case is very flimsy,
Her doing that raised a big red flag for me. She tried to establish a nexus between the cops not seatbelting Gray with his death -— and presented 0 evidence, other than to say the cops didn’t seatbelt Gray.
The cops may have known who he was. He had a long rap sheet and ran from the cops when he saw them. I don’t know what the knife laws are in MD, but at first they reported he had a switch blade.
9 to 12 is three days.
My advice, stay out of Baltimore, and keep a loaded gun nearby...if legal where you live.
“The cops may have known who he was”
If the cops made any such statements that they knew who he was when they started to chase him, it hasn’t been published-— nor has there been any statement published that they even ordered him to stop when he started to run.
Running is not a crime or even probable cause.
The knife they found on his person when they caught him is legal in MD. It is possible that the cops mistakenly thought it was illegal.
OTOH,
False imprisonment -— Mark has mentioned this many times tonight.
He said, If you charge a cop with false imprisonment every time a cop makes a mistake....
I trust his knowledge of the law. Furthermore, no evidence has been presented that leads one to conclude that the cops were responsible for Gray’s death.

Another legal opinion:
“I think a prosecutor is going to have a hard time proving that the actions did in fact cause death, since they seem to have no theory as to how it occurred, Banzhaf said in a phone interview.

Taking someone to the police station for questioning is not false imprisonment.
