If all it took to get my vote was being a 73-year-old dude who’s grooving out to the folk songs he used to shout-sing in a Vermont jam band, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) would have my vote.
If you click on the audio button on the lower right (see video on this page), you can hear him shush the reporter who is playing his old music and say “Shhh. I’m getting in the groove here!” What’s not to love, really? If you didn’t know he was a sitting U.S. Senator, there is no way you’d put that on a list of 100 possible occupations for the man.
The thing is, though, that Sanders is a democratic socialist challenging Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination for president. If he were running as an independent, he might actually pose some danger to her. But mounting a weak challenge from within the party will not do anything other than help her. Which makes you think: Did Team Clinton put the lovable socialist folk singer up to this for some reason? Consider the following:
1) He is one of very few people in the political world who can make Hillary seem younger and more in touch with normal people

The question that needs to be asked of Hillary is:
Can you explain to me why, your entire public life has been involved with some sort of shady scheme to enrich yourself, and the sleezy scandals surrounding the coverup of same ?

Too bad Christie doesn’t run against Hillary in the Dem primary. Bet he’d win.
Exactly. He’s in the race to make Hillary look like a middle-of-the-road politician. (Cue the armadillo with yellow stripe photo.)
This is just step one, for the Democrat primary win when you throw Chafee in to the mix. Call it the “Goldilocks Strategy”:
Sanders too far left; Chafee too far right; Hillary - just right!
