Marc Rich changed his citizenship to avoid US taxes. There is in my mind nothing wrong with that - the US government disagrees.

The Marc Rich pardon was one of the few things the Clintdog did that is defensible. You should not be considered a tax cheat if you give up your citizenship to avoid the taxes in the country where you live. What is a crime is that he had to bribe a president to avoid prosecution for something that it should not be illegal to do.

I think you need to educate yourself on Marc Rich a little more. The tax evasion was not the only charge. He was also charged with trading with Iran during the oil embargo by hiding ownership of oil. He paid a $200 million civil fine for it.

There are better people to defend than this scumbag.
