There is a German situation map for today. This is the last one prepared, and this was the last one Hitler reviewed at his final situation conference at about noon on April 30. Immediately after this conference he committed suicide. I have crops from this map that I will place in sequence with the maps from the 25th; the last ones I posted, to show the deterioration of a German situation that was never good.

Berlin, April 30, 1945. To the northwest, what's left of 3rd Panzer Army is withdrawing as best it can in an effort to get to the British before the Soviets round them up.

You can see the 9th Army desperately trying to break out to the west, toward the Allied lines, in what will be called the Battle of Halbe. Most will be killed or captured by the Russians, but a few will break through and join up with 12th Army, trying to go west, too.
