There’s avionics these days that have the same information. Some of the portable versions are very affordable.
Information in one's head is not the same as information that may or may not be in a database somewhere, if you can find it (which is admittedly far more likely if there is at least a faint clue in your head!).
If you need to land a heavy glider pronto, you are not going to be up for an extended google.
