My father was a C-47 pilot in WW2. Among the many incredible pictures he took was one of Benito’s and Clara’s bodies hanging in the square.
I thought he/they were hung upside down at a gas station, and passersby took the opportunity to relieve themselves on him.
I heard they hung them from a pole at an Esso station.
Several years ago, my boss’ secretary mentioned she had a photo I might be interested in. She knew I was a history buff, and she produced a photo of Mussolini and Petacchi after they’d been cut down. Her aunt took the picture.
