A common belief but the US did not enter the war for two more years after the sinking of the Lusitania.

Yes. The HMS Lusitania.

It wasn’t even an American Ship.

Then there was the USS Maine, that precipitated the Spanish-American War.

Seems like a recurring theme.

Remember Pearl Harbor?
