'Just a soldier.' That's how Vietnam veteran Robert Valentine identified himself after he stood up to young rioters in Baltimore and shamed them for how they were behaving in the wake of Freddie Gray's death. Valentine ignored the rocks and bottles whizzing through the night air on Monday and told a group of rioters to go away and head home after stepping in front or a police line.
The vet's heroic actions did not go unnoticed and CNN's Joe Johns spoke to him afterwards. Johns asked Valentine if he was concerned about his safety.
Valentine responded: 'I did 30 years, okay, came out a Master Sergeant.
'I've seen more than all this. I've been through the riots already.'
He went on to say the rioters 'need to have their butts' in their 'home units with their families studying and doing something with their life.'

If Baltimore had more people like this Master Sergeant and that viral-video momma, they would NOT be having to squelch a violent riot, they wouldn’t be putting out fires, and the wouldn’t be begging for Federal dollars to rebuild their burned-out crap-hole city, next week!

Too bad Old-School men are so few. Still, there are many young men with character.
I will admit I could not do what this man done, for I would be a coward in my home with a knife and a weapon at the ready, and alot of folks on FR would do the same, he really is a brave man and they need more of people like him, sadly he will be called an Uncle Tom or Oreo.
