I seem to remember that some of the coastal plants were converted for LNG exports.

They are in the process of doing so.

But there was massive amount of money spent to build the purification and refrigeration equipment. That is most of the facility cost.

The tanks, docks and load arms that are common to both uses are not the majority expense.
