I eyed floating LNG units +20 years ago in several 3rd world countries.

Besides accessing stranded gas, the chief incentive was that, unlike most LNG terminals found on land, these costly facilities could be moved quickly should the country seek to nationalize and the companies who ponied up the money might be able to keep it.

Sad, isn’t it?
