A Las Vegas man told the Las Vegas Sun he concocted a story about Harry Reid getting beaten up by his brother to test right-wing media gullibility, which he claimed worked like a charm.
Larry Pfeifer said he made up a story about Reids eye injury, which the senator incurred during an admittedly-bizarre exercise accident, after reading an unsubstantiated rumor in a conservative blog of Reid being beaten up by the mafia. Using a pseudonym, Pfeifer contacted the blogger John Hinderaker and spun a tale of a drunken fight between the Reid brothers, seemingly corroborated by Larry Reids DUI arrest around that time.
Hinderaker published the story, though he did not vouch for its veracity. However, that was enough to get the rumor mill going.

Although it was you right wing nuts who first speculated about a mob hit on Dirty Hairy ... it appears obvious that what was concocted was the tall tale about an exercise strap slipping off the shower door in his bathroom ... and it seems evident that the Libtard is trying to cook up another distraction to take a little heat off his nice Mafia friends who got him elected in the first place and to whom he now answers.
Sounds like harry is trying to avoid another three rounds with a small crowd.
That's exactly how a responsible person who is interested in posting a story that is true by any objective measure does it.
We should all keep in mind that the "rumor mill" for these stories only stays in high gear because nobody with an objective point of view believes the story that Reid has concocted about his "exercise machine accident."
“A Las Vegas man told the Las Vegas Sun he concocted a story about Harry Reid getting beaten up by his brother to test right-wing media gullibility, which he claimed worked like a charm.”
Yeah, like we’d fall for that one...
Why should we believe him now?
If this was a so-called news story, then the real question is why didn’t other “liberal” news media report it, liberal bias is the real story.
The way you suppress the real true story is to put many “true-sounding” stories out there to muddy the waters...
So in other words this guy shamelessly lied like Reid did about Romney.

To see how gullible the media is? Really?
Doesn’t pass the smell test. That he was bought off by the Reid camp would be just one of a few possibilities.
OK, but you still want us to believe that an exercise machine kicked Harry’s a$$?
“Uh, yeah. I made it up. That’s the ticket!”
Back to the Guido theory.
Or else Larry Pfeiffer realized he gave too much away, so now he’s doing the ol’ “hey, I was only testing you guys” to try to retract it ....
fact remains, Harry does doesn’t want to talk about it, which is highly suspicious in itself
....and who is to say that “Dingy Harry” didn’t call the “boys” and have the guy straightend out.
Okay, I will admit culpability. I was shocked that my new voodoo doll actually worked.
Limbaugh can officially withdraw the “grudging respect” he afforded Dingy for not turning his brother in. That was the part of the story that was incongruent anyway.
Oh, you mean he Lied. Liberals lie all the time. It’s what they do.
The whole Limbaugh skit was a parody of Reid's lie about Romney's "tax evasion" on the Senate floor. He even used much of the same language Reid used: "reliable source". Remember, Rush rarely tells you when he's using parody. That's part of his shtick.

Uh, he believes Harry’s story? At least this guy’s story was plausible. No one reported it as fact.
Reid’s thugs have had a ‘talk’ with Pfeiffer and helped him ‘remember’ that the story he gave Powerline was ‘made up’. Ya, that’s the ticket.
