I have a grocery close by and the department Kroger’s about three miles away. I always go to one or the other.
My nearest Kroger is 50 miles away.

are you sure you don’t? They own quite a few stores that are not named Kroger... We have Fry’s Food and Drug here in Arizona, I know Fred Meyer is what it is in Oregon, They are City Market in Colorado. AKA Baker’s, Cala Foods, Dillons, Food 4 Less, QFC, Ralphs, Smiths plus others, their website says they operate under 20 banners.
I have always shopped at Fry’s because for the normal stuff I buy, they always seem like I get a better value than when I go to any other grocery store and then I get a few cents off on my gas purchases too... for what it’s worth, many items they carry, my family prefers the cheaper store brand over many national brands... but being the bargain shopped I am, I also cherry picked other stores sale ads... Since Kroger stood up to Mom’s Demand a few months ago, I fully support them and rarely go anywhere else!
