Senate proponents of a bill empowering Congress to review and potentially reject any Iran nuclear deal must first win a battle with some colleagues determined to change the legislation in ways that could sink it.
Anybody who monkeys with this bill is going to run into a buzz saw, Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina warned ahead of this weeks debate.
Also trying to discourage any changes, Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey urged senators to stick with the plan as it emerged from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. [ ]
GOP Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, a presidential candidate, has an amendment with Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., that would require Congress to sign off on any final nuclear deal, not just disapprove of it. An amendment from Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., would make any deal a treaty, thus needing to be ratified by two-thirds of the Senate.

I see that Ted Cruz is keeping up the good work opposing this attempt to ease the way toward the Obama Regime’s deal with Iran becoming irreversible reality.
I pray that Cruz follows his conscience on this. It's why he was elected Senator. And is heading to President.

I really don’t understand this. The senate has to sign off on it or it isn’t a treaty, it isn’t anything.
They don’t have to pass a law giving themselves this right, they have it by definition.
I see a sleight of hand, by which they almost pass this law, and then tell the voters, we tried to stop him, we did the best we could, and it wasn’t enough. Its kabuki.
kabuki it is
Cruz won’t go along again, he isn’t playing the game, he deserves to be the leader of this country, these other smucks should be fired.
They don’t need this law to do their freakin’ jobs.
At least Cruz and a handful of others are putting up some resistance.

Notice how Linda only sounds like he has some testosterone when he’s helping the Uniparty with some dastardly deed.
The uranium must be for the nuke reactor that powers the reset button.
No, you don't understand. It's not a treaty and the Senate is lucky to have any say in it at al. Doncha see? -- According to the media (including far too many on the Right), the Democrat Socialists and obama, it's a "deal" -- they're very careful not to call it a "treaty".
No bill is better than a bad bill!
Who particularly on the “right”? Just saying you’re on the right does not mean you are on the right.
I'm not saying these hosts are not good conservatives, I think they're saying it out of habit (because they've heard it constantly referred to as a "deal") or because they're not really thinking about it.
Of course it's a treaty ... calling it a "deal" doesn't change that, it just makes it not sound so important or worthy of the Senate's time and "deals" are not subject to the Constitution; only treaties are.
It's a treaty ... not a "deal".
