We have a Black Mouth Cur but not familiar with the Ladner variety. Ours is from working stock at a ranch just south west of Houston.

She is a house dog because she doesn't like to ride in MrDs truck. Big fat sweet girl named Cate.

Mr. Ladner was a man from Miss. His family can trace his line of dogs to well over 300 years ( family Bible ). His son still carries on the tradition of breeding these first AMERIAN hunting dogs. They make great pets, watchdogs family protector and do very well treeing, herding, catching, and baying wild game. Pinywoods dogs they are called in Texas sometimes I believe.....and I know that the Texas state dog is a Blue Lacy who would share the same very long American history as the blackmouth curs. Thamk you for owning a great American dog breed..buy another one

Ummm. My husband is a hunter and a rancher and we have feral hogs on our place and I have never heard of this dog. Maybe I need to check into them!
