These kind of illnesses are why we have these people called ‘doctors’ or ‘psychiatrists’ (who often have their own issues, but that’s off-topic).

Fads in psychiatry come and go. Remember the ‘multiple personality’ fad of about 25 years ago? Odd that you never hear about that these days. Or the ‘repressed memories’ that got innocent people locked up for child abuse.
