C-SPAN on our changing views on guns, Bloomberg's group explains why they won’t debate
Crime Prevention Research Center ^ | April 25, 2015 | John Lott

Posted on 04/25/2015 7:12:21 PM PDT by richardb72

From C-SPAN: “John Lott talked about the new study put out by Pew Research Center which finds that support for gun rights have increased and, for the first time, protecting gun rights is more important than controlling ownership.”

Lott was originally supposed to be on for an hour to discuss these issues with Ted Alcorn, the research director for Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown. But he would not appear at the same time and insisted that he be allowed to appear after me. This is from the end of Lott’s appearance on C-SPAN.

ted alcorn said that his organization everytown for gun safety does not feel it is productive to have debates or conversations with people with no credibility. yet alcorn is only a photographer while john lott has a phd in economics and is associated with the university of chicago.

in other words, ted alcorn is completely out of his league in credentials to debate gun control, and everyone should confront him about that at every available opportunity furthermore it is the height of hypocrisy that photographer alcorn can claim more credibility than dr. lott on guns or economics issues.

It’s exactly the same way with AGW alarmists, like AlGore, all of whom refuse to debate AGW skeptics.

Here's the little weasel's excuse for not debating John Lott:

"So, you know, when there's a credible scientist, someone who wants to have a real constructive conversation about this, we're gonna be there, but folks who seek to minimize the issue of gun violence, the great issue of gun violence in this country, or to draw attention away from the real issues to themselves, that's not a conversation I think it's productive to be a part of."

That's not an exact quote, since it does not include his favorite phrases, "you know" and "uh."

No wonder he's afraid to debate Lott. He knows he would lose so badly that he would probably be fired. Lott knows his subject backwards, and this guy is a mincing idiot.

So he’ll only debate people who agree with him. LOL

He's in the "cashing checks from anti-gun liberals" business. If he was publicly humiliated in debates with John Lott, that business would be jeopardized. So, he refuses to debate, and lies about his reason. Then he cashes more checks.

I’d heard that John’s a FReeper. At least he was.

He has posted on freerepublic a significant number of times.

I recall that he was castigated by humblegunner for posting an excerpted article of his once, but I may be mistaken.

Humblegunner can correct me if I am.

I’ve had a few email conversations with John in the past. I’ll ask him if he can return someday soon.

We need him badly these days. He’s a hell of a guy.

It’s late, I was bored and I just noticed the minor controversy about John Lott. So I researched the issue just a bit.

What I found was a dust up indeed, but not between humblegunner and John Lott. Rather it was between John Lott and the Admin Moderator.

Humblegunner’s only contribution was a mildly amusing joke. Well, actually a very funny joke, in a furry sort of way.

But you can read why John Lott stopped posting right here, and it appears to have nothing to do with anything Gunner said:

Thanks.
I already sent John the query, and will post his reply on this thread -after asking his permission.
Seriesly. The guy’s a stud.
Even with those weird eyebrows, I love him!
He has done so much for the American gun owner.
