As contributions fall, House GOP rebels blame party leaders

WASHINGTON (AP) — As he began his first re-election run in early 2013, tea party Rep. Thomas Massie had no trouble raising money from business interests.

Then came 2015.

The Kentucky Republican voted against returning John Boehner, R-Ohio, to the speaker's job and opposed an effort by GOP leaders to avoid a standoff with President Barack Obama over immigration that threatened to shut down the Department of Homeland Security.

In the first three months of 2013, Massie reported $46,000 rolling in from tobacco, trucking, health care and other industries. During the first quarter of 2015, Massie has collected just $1,000 from political action committees, which funnel contributions to candidates from business, labor or ideological interests. That money came from the conservative Eagle Forum.

Massie and some other conservatives say the reason their business contributions have fallen is simple: GOP leaders are retaliating for their defiance.

We don’t need the party.

The party needs us.

It’s easier to contribute directly to the candidate these days, but the big money interests will always try to influence the party leadership.

Money isn’t everything. We here in VA-7 showed that it can be done against a huge war chest. Dave Brat was outspent 20-1 by the weasel Eric Cantor.
We have term limits in our hands if we engage and get people to vote in the primaries. Throw out the cheap labor importers.

The GOP would die in 2 election cycles if conservatives bolted. I think conservatives should have bolted in 2008 when McAmnesty was nominated. If they had we would have an oppostion party now.
Instead we have Democrats in R jerseys voting to advance the left’s agenda.

When we think of American political royalty we usually think of the Clintons, the Obamas, the Kennedys, the Bushes....but these three clowns think of themselves as royalty, too. As do most in the congress.

There is one party, the Uniparty.

The rats will never allow the GOP wing of the Uniparty to dissolve, because the Left needs perpetual class enemies to justify their totalitarianism. The GOPE and their corporate crony bedfellows just want money and happily cavort with rats.

Our corrupted institutions cannot serve their purpose, which is to secure our rights. They must be reformed, and reform will not emerge from those who profit so well from the existing system.

Elections are fast becoming courtesy fornications designed to make believe we have a place at the table. We don't.

Reclaim the constitution. Article V before it is too late.

“We don’t need the party.
The party needs us.”

I’m beginning to think that perhaps that isn’t so true anymore. They certainly don’t vote like they need us. I suspect they have ‘discovered’ the wonders of the modern vote tabulating machines. The democrats have been using them for at least a couple national election cycles, and since the so called republicans are voting according to the democrats wishes, why wouldn’t the dems start to share in the magic of modern vote counting with their new found friends.

That’s what I’ve been doing for about a decade now-—sending money directly to the folks I like. I told the RNC repeatedly that they need a clear platform and to encourage conservatives instead of sending Rove out to fight them. We could have replaced HarryReid if they’d gotten off their buttz. Each time I get a phony survey from the RNC I use their stamp to send back one of my TERM LIMITS flyers.

And another check’s on the way to Cruz.

SO many GOPers have been bought by corporations. This is nothing like the GOP back i the day. The genuflecting to the billionaires is nauseating.
