This whole mess needs to be laid at the feet of the Panama City city council. They’ve been turning a blind eye to the criminal activity that has spawned there on their beach because the three bid open bars there are making a pot full of money off of all of the “spring break crowd.” FNC had some smarmy bastard who runs one of the bars on and he oozed filth. I think only one council member has come out publicly and said that their beach is a disgrace today.

How about putting some blame on the parents? The first incidences of bad behavior were quite awhile ago, so there's no reason for college students still being supported by their parents to be allowed to go there by them.

If the elite who can afford spring break vacations and to be in frats behave like this, how can we expect any better from the masses without much to lose?

I cannot believe Panama City allows their city to be taken over for weeks at a time because of a few business owners. Fort Lauderdale used to be the college spring break destination but those people decided they didn’t want it.

I travel to the area some on business but avoid the place during spring and summer.

We went to PCB for a few days in advance of the wife’s convention at the Marriott there, to make a week out of it, about a dozen years ago. Two days in, we were headed out for dinner in the car, and out of nowhere, she turns to me and says “my new goal in life is to never have to come here again.”

It sounds like that is still valid. And she hasn’t been back.
