Republicans Who Voted For Loretta Lynch Voted For The Abuse Of Executive Power
THE FEDERALIST ^ | 24 APRIL 2015 | DAVID HARSANYI

It’s pretty simple. After years of griping about Barack Obama’s abuse of executive power, the GOP finally has a chance to do something about it.

So Mitch McConnell makes a deal: If Democrats agree to stop blocking a human trafficking bill over some boilerplate language regarding abortion funding—a position that made them look unreasonable—Republicans, with all the leverage imaginable, will help confirm another attorney general nominee who will rubber stamp the president’s many overreaches.

‘Zactly. The GOPee cares not about the rule of law nor about protecting much less using the powers of Congress.

Well, at the end of the day, one Mitch McConnell is still the choice of the voters of Kentucky and the Pride of both the voters of and the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The voters of Kentucky had a choice to make. They made that choice. Senator McConnell makes them happy and the hell with us ,they say.

Big ships don’t turn on a dime. It takes time for anger to spread, but it will pick up speed as it does.

Honestly, in a way, I like McConnell, and Boehner doing what they are doing because I think it has a lot to do with why Cruz is doing so well. The more these losers cave, the harder it will be for a GOPe candidate to get the nomination. Look how well Cruz is doing on donations from small donors.

This is what I like about this forum. I get different points of views and I learn something I did not know. It helps when one is looking for the silver lining in an otherwise dark, black cloud.

I agree with this to an extent. But what is killing me is the massive damage being to to this country. The media has a big part in this as well.

In about 6-9 months, you can be sure the GOPe operatives will be on here extolling the virtues Jeb Bush, or if it looks bad for him, another candidate (I'm thinking Rubio) who may be "conservative" but at the heart of it does nothing to change the status quo.

Stating the obvious to some here, and echoing some of better minds in the past-a good number in DC, the crony capitalists (like GE) prefer the power and perks the current setup gives them. Any perceived threat to that, like the middle class for instance, has to be eliminated.
This is why you see things like: no finger being lifted to stop the NSA surveillance of all domestic communications, a push for illegal amnesty with concurrent granting the illegals the right to vote, expanded H1-B programs to keep wage slaves, no effort to eliminate Obamacare, no serious effort to reign in the harassment of Americans by the multitude of alphabet agencies (especially those of a conservative political bent).

All these things are done to keep the existing power structure in place. At the risk of going into tin foil territory, I believe some elements in this government realize the growing discontent in this country (and the reasons for it), and are working to put into place a more, shall we say, material enforcement mechanism along with a constant push to disarm the general public.

Alexander
Burr
Capito
Corker
Cornyn
Gardner
Hatch
Roberts
Rounds
Thune
Tillis
Cochran
Ayotte
Graham

Flake
Portman
Kirk
Johnson
Collins
McConnell
Hatch

Above the line voted for cloture, below voted for confirmation, except Hatch who voted for both

They are all Democrats in R jerseys and should be removed from office. They advance the left’s agenda under the guise of being Republicans.

That’s not all that happened. The pollsters skewed far left, i.e., there was just a bare chance that the GOP would take back the Senate such that everybody was afraid to crossover and vote for the RAT that would take the McConnells and Cochrans and Grahams and such down.

If voters had the true polling data four months ahead and knew they could have been encouraged to jettison 2-3 of the RATS in the GOP leadership and still recapture the Senate, they likely would have taken that risk.

I’d like to see polls asking ‘knowing what you know now, would you have voted how you did with your Senator last November?’

Its bad enough when you have a rogue President doing unconstitutional things but when the Senate backs him up its even worse. They should have Borked her and made Obama put a better candidate.

20 out of 54 is a minority, though there are likely sympathizers hiding out in the 34.

McCain has to act conservative for the next 19 months. He wants to run again.
There are certainly others who are Democrats in R jerseys who did not expose themselves on this vote. The GOPe is very cagey about shifting the votes around to keep up the appearance of being conservative for the members that need it.

I’ll have to go back and see who voted with Cruz and Lee on the shutdown. All the rest are suspect (along with a couple who voted with C&L).
