I'd have thought more than 21 percent. I know some Bi/Gay people who are not only Republicans, but they are Conservative Republicans. But hey, I'll take 20 percent of the DemocRATS base vote. Now if we could get 20 percent of the Blacks to vote Pubbie and increase the Latino vote for the GOP to 40 percent..... Hey, we might have a chance. I'm a Ted Cruz guy, but I think that Rubio is the one with the chance now of bringing the aforementioned into the GOP fold. He is reaching out to gays, Latinos and young people.
But, as long as one of my top two choices (Cruz and Walker) is still in the hunt, I can't help Rubio out.

(Anyone considering Gov. Susana Martinez of NM for VP in 2016?)

GOP’s Charlie Baker ran for governor of Mass. in 2010 with openly gay running mate, Richard Tisei, against Deval Patrick. It didn’t help; Patrick got re-elected. Patrick didn’t run in 2014, so the Dem nominee was Martha Coakley. Baker did win this time (narrowly) though this election, his running mate was female (Karen Polito).
