There's no excuse for going to work while impaired by the influence of any drug, legal or illegal. Even if you have a white-collar job, your impairment puts your employer at risk.
I have an anti-migraine medication that I only take when OTC drugs don't work. But, I go home before I take it, because it makes me a bit dizzy.
