I liked GWB as a person and voted for him twice, but will never forgive him for not securing the border and starting serious interior enforcement following 9/11.
I did not know he meant “no amnesty” the same way as John McCain means it until after I’d voted for him the sceond time or I wouldn’t have.

Wish we still had the Class in our White House that the Bushes brought. Say what you want about GWB, but he and Laura are people that love this country and wouldn’t have even entertained a thought of the antics that our current occupants have embarrassed us with..........
I don’t give a damn what any of the usual snarks on FR say, I like Dana Perino and George W. Bush and this just proves why I’m right. They are both individuals of quality and character and you don’t have to look very far to see how badly astray the government and the nation has gone since they served with honor and distinction.

Bush was kind man and decent human being. I wonder if he ever understood what it was like to battle the Left though.
I was reading recently about John Ashcroft, how he recused himself from the Scooter Libby investigations (and turned it over to Obama’s FBI director, James Comey who appointed his pal Fitzgerald) and also how Bush had to try to convince Ashcroft to continue warrant-less wiretaps of terrorist suspects.
All I could imagine was - Obama and Holder would never consider such rigamarole. The would simply agree on whatever their leftist goals were and proceed. No concern for separation of powers, scrupulosity over the rule of law, or appearance of impropriety. They would simply DO IT.

George W Bush allowed the invasion of this country by illegals; he encouraged this invasion by promoting amnesty; he called Americans lazy (like his brother Jeb); that is not snark but recorded history. Everything Bush accomplished has been unraveled by Obama, except illegal immigration and the detestable Homeland Security apparatus, both of which have been expanded.
Reading the comments here make it exceedingly clear why conservatives lose and why we will always lose and why our country is doomed. For all of you who are throwing negative comments around that have no bearing whatsoever on the story at hand....I hope you enjoy and savor that smug feeling you have right now when your country has crumbled around your pompous asses.
