A Marine? He ought to be shaking in HIS boots!!
The problem is law enforcement confuses fear with respect. These guys act like fools, break the law, get a free pass, do not have to abode by the same rules, and they wonder why people resent them.
From the moment I met her grandfather, he tried to intimidate me. I have been around the world and have seen some very scary people; law enforcement personnel seldom are intimidating. Most haven’t a clue. I was detained once by police and was surprised they didn’t shoot each other. One time I had a gun held to my head while another officer stood opposite. He said I didn’t seem very scared. I told him I wasn’t but I would be if I were him. He thought I was going to threaten him and asked why. I noted the fact that if his partner pulled the trigger the round would likely pass through my head instantly ending any concern I might have and pass into him at a greatly reduced speed possibly causing death but certainly causing a a lot of pain. They both stepped back.
Most people haven’t any real idea of what Marines do. He told his granddaughter he was a SWAT sniper (he isn’t) and that he could outdo a Marine sniper. Like I said, clueless.
