nobama would experience extreme hardship trying to manage a lemmonaide stand, let alone a world-wide military.

He would like to end all wars if only all Westerns would beat the rush and convert to Islam.

The guy is a wrecking ball. The middle east is on fire.

It is likely it would have been on fire anyway, in fact, a drop dead certainty. And very likely we would be involved anyway.

The difference is, in some cases it is unclear which side we are on. In some cases, it looks like we are on both sides. And in some cases, its quite clear we are on the wrong side.

Even if the usurper planned to end the wars, you need honest, competent adults to accomplish it, and there’s no one in his regime with those qualifications.

But compared to where the United States was 10 years ago — bogged down in the middle of Iraq’s civil war with heavy U.S. troop presence straining our military and dividing our country — America’s overall strategic position is much better today than it was in 2005,” he [Katulis] said.

Katulis is a partisan fool, and a perfect example of what happens when the conduct of foreign policy in war zones is left up to partisan fools. Changing the narrative doesn't change one thing on the ground.

A dispassionate look at the situations in 2008 and the one before our eyes in 2015 will reveal just how much the situation has deteriorated, not improved. In 2008 Iraq was stable, with a historically low level of violence, an elected government that was bridging the gap between the dispossessed Sunni tribes formerly in control and the newly empowered Shi'a ones that constituted the majority. That there was very little widespread civil bloodshed at that point indicates tremendous improvement over the situation that country had found itself in for nearly three decades. Russian influence was ebbing in the region, Iran had opted for a hands-off stance, entrusting their efforts to the native Iraqi Shi'a, and U.S. troop commitments were beginning to decline. It is useful to recall that in application 0bama's were behind Bush's schedule, not ahead of it. That they were disasterously managed after that isn't Bush's fault.

Since then? Libya and Egypt were destabilized and sent into the eager hands of the Muslim Brotherhood, where Libya remains. Egypt recovered no thanks to State Department meddling in favor of the opposition. Syria had a civil war stoked by both Iran and the U.S., destabilizing that region, which became a hotbed for what is now ISIS. Yemen has gone from stable to violent and chaotic, with increasing Iranian influence in that country as well. As for Iraq, it drifted into a situation where the Sunni tribes found it more advantageous to cast their lot with head-chopping fanatics than to attempt to coexist with the Shi'a in Baghdad.

To top it all off, 0bama increased troop concentrations in Afghanistan under Rules of Engagement that guaranteed the increased casualties that we have seen under 0bama as opposed to Bush. He has attempted to control Taliban sanctuary in Pakistan by an air assassination campaign that has failed to weaken the Taliban's prospects of recovering control of the country. About Yemen little need be said outside a glance at the evening papers. We have seen one embassy burned and its ambassador murdered in Benghazi and another in Yemen abandoned, its Marines ordered to destroy their weapons before climbing aboard evacuation aircraft.

This is not the track record of an administration with a successful foreign policy, it is the shameful litany of failure on the part of amateurs, incompetents, ideologues, domestic political hacks, and media sycophants perfectly willing to cover the whole thing up with moon-dust lest it sully their fantasy narratives and threaten their own hold on political power. Many of them are still busy polishing that ultimate, bitter joke of a Nobel Peace Prize hanging around the neck of a fool even more arrogant then themselves.

I know that photo of him on Politico was taken at 1/60th of a second or so, but that “ball lost in tall grass” look says it all.

And our troops are to carry water for this “leader” ?

I once heard a clip from satirist and comedian Mort Sahl on WNBC when he subbed for the talkshow host Long John Nebbel one night in November of 1967. He made a good point when criticizing LBJ and his handling of the Vietnam War. He was dead serious. He said “most wars are started by the Social Democrats” and also added, “I know my history too, the question is, how much longer do we have left to write any.” The last line got me, with Barky in the White Hut and our enemies gaining around out there, makes me wonder.
