Google “Cruz gay daughter comment” to find the NY Times article that discusses Cruz’s recent event hosted by a pair of gay Hotel magnates, in the last two days (don’t know if we are allowed to link to NY Times articles, so I didn’t post the link.)
From the article, “During the gathering, according to two people present, Mr. Cruz said he would not love his daughters any differently if one of them was gay.”
First, it’s the NY Times, so take it with a grain of salt, and I don’t think there is anything that my daughter could do to make me love her less, so I don’t know if this means anything at all. But if it is even a tiny bit accurate, expect to hear more about it.
My friend, I don’t know how to do these linky things— but down a page or 2 on the Board, there was a long thread—
“At New York Reception, Ted Cruz Is Said to Strike Different Tone Toward Gays”.
And here’s another article on the same subject:
http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/23/politics/ted-cruz-gay-marriage-2016-election/index.html
During the gathering, according to two people present, Mr. Cruz said he would not love his daughters any differently if one of them was gay.
Well would you stop loving one of your children because they were gay? I wouldn’t. But I would make clear that if they acted on those feelings I would not approve. But I would not withhold my love from them.
He has stated time and again, in front of any group, that he believes gay marriage is a State’s issue.
It was a dinner "at the Central Park South penthouse of Mati Weiderpass and Ian Reisner, longtime business partners who were once a couple and who have been pioneers in the gay hospitality industry," according to the Times.

The article quotes Reisner quoting Cruz: "If one of my daughters was gay, I would love them just as much."
