Guardian UK: Pope Francis is starting to look a lot like Sarah Palin or Kevin Rudd
The (leftwing) Guardian ^ | April 21, 2015 | Kristina Keneally

I’m starting to have a crisis of faith. Not in God, but rather, in Pope Francis.

It seems a betrayal to even write these words. I’m a progressive Catholic who longs for a church that is more welcoming of women, homosexuals and divorced people.(Yadda Yadda)

Francis – global superstar, media darling, a truly modern pope – is the best hope people like me have had for many years, right? He’s the second coming of John XXIII, isn’t he?

I confess that I am starting to doubt it.

Francis swept into the Chair of St Peter with such animation and apparent determination to up-end the traditional notions of how popes ought to behave.

Washing the feet of prisoners, including women and Muslims. Refusing to live in the Apostolic Palace...Refusing to judge homosexuals.

Last month Francis made a curious comment in an interview marking the second anniversary of his election as pope....

"I have the feeling that my Pontificate will be brief: four or five years; I do not know, even two or three."

The supposedly caretaker pope, John XXIII, managed in a four year and 218 day reign to utterly transform and modernise the church through the Second Vatican Council. In trying to explain how this happened, my university theology professor said: “Well, the Holy Spirit moves where it will.” And one of my classmates whispered, “It seems the Holy Spirit is a bit constipated these days. Nothing much is moving anymore.”

Undergraduate humour but a pretty accurate description from the viewpoint of our generation: post-Vatican II babies...

I’m a progressive Catholic who longs for a church that is more welcoming of women (read womyn), homosexuals and divorced people.

The Catholics are already welcoming to all those people, just not their ungodly behaviors. But then this woman is not really a Catholic. If she believes sinful behavior is acceptable why not join any number of groups who seem to be happy with radical feminism, homosexual sex, and adultry. Oh that's right because her real goal is to destroy the Catholic church as it is now and rebuild it in her image. This is likely how she communes with HER god.

The first real leader appears many times in the Bible, including
Revelation 13:15-17
“The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.”

The second real leader appears many times in the Bible, including
Revelation 19:11
“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True.”

I do not think we will do well against the first of these leaders. Considering how easily a lazy fool can deceive us, I expect that to go quite badly (not to mention the explicit warning that it will go badly).

Go join what church? It takes faith to found your own, or stick with one that you have good faith in succeeding. AFAIK, those people who want to be like the other churches clearly demonstrate by their actions that they do not have much faith in their beliefs.
